Creative assignment

Research/Initial Ideas 

The topic I have chosen for my assignment is 'The build up'. I will be doing a build up to a football game, I will be taking my photos on the 3rd May, as I'm going with my Dad and Brother I will be basing my work off of Richard Billingham, who became famous for his photography of his family in everyday normal situations.

To draw inspiration for my work I scoured the internet for photos I could take and use as inspiration. However there wasn't really anything of the sort I was planning on doing, which would almost be like a time-lapse style, so I was on my own in thinking of how I was going to complete these photos.

I also found an example on twitter (see below) which was Hartlepool United fans making there way to the stadium Vs Plymouth Argyle, I found this helpful as it was the sort of thing I was aiming to do on the day I was taking my photos.

As with any photo shoot I had something's to consider:

Set-up

Location: Huish Park, Yeovil, Yeovil Town FC Vs Middlesbrough FC, Kick-Off 12:15 Saturday May 3rd 2014 

Equipment: Camera, Phone camera for inside the stadium, Memory card, Batteries, Match ticket.

Transport: Car, leave Waterlooville between 8-9 to arrive at ground with plenty of time until KO.

Paperwork

Due to it being in a public place I didn't require a model release form or things of that nature. However as an example i have attempted a risk assessment.

My Photos

Due to the nature of the shoot I was doing I took photos every few minutes for 1- 1 1/2 hours as the stand filled up, therefore I ended up with easily over 250 photos, due to this high amount I've put all of the photos in a Dropbox folder for your viewing pleasure and so that they are easier to view then importing them all on to my blog.

As well as putting all of the photos in a Dropbox folder, I also made a contact sheet of all the photos I used in my final piece of work.

Final Images

Where as most people took the approach of only using 5 different photos as their final piece for this assignment, I took a different approach of creating 2 big photos in Photoshop out of all the photos I took, as I thought that would create a better effect for 'The Build Up'. I created one which included photos from outside the stadium and the journey to the stadium. The other one includes photos from inside the ground of the stand filling up and has smaller photos surrounding one big photo that is in the middle of the page.
