Photojournalism

For our first assignment we had to create an article around 4 different types of photography, Photojournalism and 3 of our own choice. I decided to go for Portrait's, Landscape's and Sport's photography.

Magazine photos

Due to doing a gaming magazine its quite hard to do photography for it, however for my critical debate i managed to use these photos, i took a photo of the GTAV game case then i edited them in photoshop. In photoshop i played round with the curves tool until i got the final results. I like how they turned out due to the red standing out in both photos.

Japer James inspired work

These were created in photoshop using the magnetic lasso tool to trace round the original image then i copied into a new document traced round it again, and placed it onto my cityscape and adjusted the transparency of my image.

Negative Space

These's photographs show negative space as the background to the subject of the photo is either a plain colour throughout, such as white, or it is a repetitive image such as a brick wall.

Composition Techniques- Leading lines and focal points

Leading Lines- these are strong lines that direct the viewers eye to the focal point of the image.

Focal Points- The point of a photo that our eyes are naturally drawn to.

Leading lines can be found as either natural objects or ones that are man made examples of these are Wall's, Path's, Sun/Moon Light, Trees and Rivers.

These photos all show examples of leading lines, they show this by leading the viewers eyesight to the focal point of the image. This effect sometimes enhances the photo as it can make it more dramatic such as in 1st and the last photo.
